About Brain Games

A free, calm space for the mind — built for every generation.

Brain Games started with a simple observation: most "brain training" websites and apps are built for a narrow audience — usually younger adults comfortable with small text, quick reflexes, and competitive scoring. That leaves out two groups who arguably benefit the most from staying mentally active: older adults, including those living with dementia, and children who are just beginning to build the thinking skills they'll use for life.

We built this site to close that gap. Every game here is designed around a different set of priorities than a typical game site: no countdown timers forcing quick decisions (unless you choose a timed Challenge mode yourself), no harsh "game over" screens, no tiny buttons or hard-to-read text, and no penalty for taking your time or getting something wrong. The goal isn't to win — it's to enjoy the process of thinking, remembering, and noticing.

Our design philosophy

Every game on this site is built around a few core principles that we don't compromise on:

A note on dementia and cognitive activity

We want to be careful and honest here: Brain Games is not a medical product, and we don't claim that playing these games treats, prevents, or slows dementia. What we do believe — and what a meaningful amount of research into cognitive stimulation supports — is that staying mentally and socially engaged is a valuable part of overall wellbeing at any age, and that shared, low-pressure activities can be a genuinely good way for caregivers and loved ones to spend time together. If you or someone you care for has questions about dementia care, please speak with a qualified healthcare provider — we're glad to be a small, pleasant part of someone's day, not a substitute for medical guidance.

Why it's free

We believe a good portion of the internet should still be free and open, particularly for tools that support people who are often left out of "mainstream" tech design. Brain Games is supported by unobtrusive advertising and optional free downloads — never by a subscription, and never by putting the actual games behind a paywall.
